Emaar Properties held a student design competition in 2004 among a number of GCC universities. A narrow piece of vacant land owned by Emaar was defined with a set of design requirements. We were asked to come up with a row housing concept after a group site visit carried out by the university. This project won the fist prize in this competition eventually. I acknowledge the creative insight and assistance which my cohorts Hamid Lotfi and Saeed Farrokh Ahmadi in particular gave to this project.
